Invention Disclosure App

Problem Statement:

Your employees have ideas all the time. But, when one of them turns into an invention, will you know if it requires intellectual property protection, a patent or trademark, if it can be commercialized, or if you need to consult an IP attorney? In addition, without a simple, standardized process, the process could be held up, and other employees may be hesitant to come forward with their ideas in the future.

Onit Solution:

Create an invention machine within your company through a simple disclosure process to maximize the ideas that are submitted and reviewed. Onit’s Invention Disclosure App will show you how many ideas have been submitted, and if and where they are getting stuck in the process.

Value Prop:

By making it easier for employees to come forward with their ideas, more will do so, effectively increasing revenue and productivity.

What can be patented?

“Any person who ‘invents or discovers any new and useful process, machine, manufacture, or composition of matter, or any new and useful improvement thereof, may obtain a patent,’ subject to the conditions and requirements of the law… A patent cannot be obtained upon a mere idea or suggestion. The patent is granted upon the new machine, manufacture, etc., as has been said, and not upon the idea or suggestion of the new machine. A complete description of the actual machine or other subject matter for which a patent is sought is required.”
