Management Team  

Two key management positions were filled in 2017, further validating Onit’s ability to gather top thought leaders from around the world. York Richards was appointed Chief Financial Officer early in 2017. York brings more than 15 years of finance and operations experience to Onit, including CFO positions at several privately held companies in the Internet and technology industries. He has built large, multi-national finance organizations, completed many strategic acquisitions and divestitures, raised capital in debt and equity markets and managed multiple shareholder exits. A seasoned executive with extensive experience managing finance organizations for high-growth companies, he most recently served as CFO at Riversand Technologies, Inc. where he was responsible for overall financial operations and reporting. Onit Announces Enhanced Legal Hold Solution for Custodian Management and Legal Hold Creation

NEW YORK and HOUSTON – January 29, 2018 — Onit, a leading provider of enterprise legal management and business process automation solutions, today announced its latest enhancements to the legal hold solution. Designed with specifications from an industry-leading audit, consulting, tax, and advisory services firm, the Onit legal hold solution is now more user-friendly, highly repeatable and defensible.

“Our enhanced solution is ideal for legal departments that need a way to quickly issue legal hold notifications and manage custodian acknowledgments,” commented Eric M. Elfman, co-founder and CEO of Onit.”Designed with usability in mind, team members now have real-time access to collection requests and can see when actions are issued, which are in progress and which need immediate attention. All legal hold correspondence is fully auditable and gives your legal team easy accessibility, creating transparency that was previously not available.”

The new wizard-based approach takes the user through the entire legal hold process – from hold creation, adding custodians, selection of the preservation notice, reminder schedules, and questionnaires through the highly intuitive and user-friendly Onit interface. The solution also contains a complete log of every activity taking place in the solution at every level of the process. This added level of transparency provides a complete audit trail throughout the legal hold process and allows users to track historical data for every legal hold. Every action in the system is logged on the front end of the system and independently stored; making the process even more defensible. The increased control at the front-end of the system (such as reviewing reminders, building templates, and setting notification schedules) provides an enhanced user experience.

The new solution also offers four unique ways to add custodians, again setting Onit apart from other competitors. Now, users can add custodians through bulk import, a multi-select drop down, by department or business unit and lastly by writing in custodians.

Additional new features of the Onit legal hold solution include:

  • Custom fields and pick lists that can be added to a legal hold memo
  • Custom questionnaires that can be created based on the type of legal hold
  • Helper text guiding the user through the legal hold creation process
  • A progress status bar indicating where the legal hold is in the creation process (i.e. 1% complete, 50% complete, 75% complete, etc.)
